The majestic lake is at the heart of our town and offers wonderful walks, swimming and fishing.
Swimming
Lough Rea is a Blue Flag beach and safe for swimming. During summer months a lifeguard is on duty and there are changing rooms, showers, picnic area and parking.

Angling
Stocked with perch and pike, fly fishing is unlimited during the season.
Walks
Follow one of the lakeside paths and see some of the birds and animals that make their home along the shore. The promenade is a lovely walk whatever the weather boasting dramatic views across the lake to the mountains behind.
